Harry Morgan was a fifth-generation Navajo silversmith celebrated for his classic revival style with smooth, antique finishes. Born on the Navajo Reservation, he began casting jewelry at seven, inspired by his mother. After briefly pursuing rodeo, he returned to silversmithing in 1965 and spent most of his life working in the Gallup, NM area, where he ran a studio and trained many artists, including Kirk Smith.

Married to silversmith Betty Joe and part of a family of renowned jewelers, Morgan passed on his craft to three of his five children. He earned numerous major art awards, and his work was featured in a 2007 Heard Museum exhibit before his death in 2008.
